If you’re a hungry college student, perhaps you’d rather shoplift the
instant ramen exhibits at this museum, rather than admire them. Osaka is
actually the birthplace of ramen, where the noodle dish was invented in
1958. The first product was chicken ramen and it was invented in a
research shed in Ikeda City, where the museum is located. The museum was
opened in 1999 to chronicle the history of ramen and chronicle the
significance of innovation at different stages of invention in general.
Not only can you learn about the history of ramen, but you can make your
own ramen with a variety of choose-your-own ingredients and then head
over to the Handmade Chicken Ramen Hands-On Workshop to make the
original noodle dish that started it all. |
